Hi, my name is Carol. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit the Corner Rooms site. Whether you are actively looking for support or just having a look, I really appreciate you taking a moment to explore this space. Reaching out (or even thinking about it) takes courage, and I want to acknowledge that.
As a predominantly person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. However, at times I also draw on additional approaches to meet my client’s needs in a flexible, responsive way.
I’m a qualified counsellor (BACP)
I have spent over 10 years working in social care, supporting children, families, carers, and care leavers through some of life's most difficult times. During this time, I have had the privilege of working alongside people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. It was through this work that I felt inspired to train as a therapeutic counsellor.
Although everyone's journey is unique, here are some of the areas I have previously and often supported with:
· Stress
· Anxiety
· Menopause
· Abuse
· Trauma
· Grief and loss
· Relationships and attachments
· Identity and self-exploration
· Life transitions
· Family dynamics
· Confidence and self-worth
· Intrusive thoughts or overwhelming feelings
As a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I follow their Ethical Framework to ensure our sessions are safe, respectful, and professional.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and conform to GDPR
