Counselling Psychotherapy Relationships Couples Young adults Children Supervision

Hello, I’m Caroline.
Getting in touch with a counsellor can feel daunting so let me share a little to try to give you an idea of who I am and what it might be like to come and see me.
My approach is warm and grounded in compassion – especially in moments that feel complex, intense and messy. I’ll listen and actively be with you. Together, we’ll move at your pace through your past and present so you can make sense of what’s happening, connect with parts of yourself that have been unheard, and move toward changes that feel meaningful for you.
BACP Accredited Qualified Counsellor
I work with adults as well as children and young people aged 9+. I have counselled adults in my private practice for a number of years and in a mental health charity. I’ve also counselled children and young people in schools and mental health services. I’ve gained a broad range of experience of working with emotional dysregulation, neurodivergence, anxiety, low mood, significant life changes, relationship challenges, childhood trauma, single event trauma, suicide, bereavement and loss. I welcome working short-term on a specific focus or longer term on the deeper work of understanding self.
I am a registered psychotherapy and counselling provider for AXA, Aviva, Vitality and WPA.
I see my job is;
• to be welcoming, open and be responsive to you so you can be comfortable enough to talk to me.
• to support you to understand yourself better
• to help you make sense of whatever is on your mind
• to support you to plan any changes you wish to make
• to speak in plain English.
• to bring expertise and critical thinking
• not to diagnose you.
• not to tell you what to do.
A little bit about me...
Who am I?
My life before training to be a therapist included marketing in banking, living and working abroad, being self-employed and also working in the public sector. I’ve also worked in the charity sector as a counsellor. I’m a Mum to teenagers, a devoted dog Mum, and wear the many hats of friend, daughter, sister, worker, woman, human – so I understand and have my own lived experiences of the challenges and complexities of life.

I’m an Accredited member of the BACP, which goes beyond standard registration.
